While practicing the authentic tailoring craft of 1950s-60s Hong Kong-style Cheongsam (長衫/Qipao 旗袍), Chocolate designs and teaches Cheongsam crafting courses for women from grassroots communities in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Fund, an NGO supported by the government.

📝 每班維期十週，教授從零開始製作正宗長衫的整個過程。學員學習量身、畫紙樣、剪裁及縫紉技巧，以及保養及修改訣竅。每堂課都包括詳細的示範，再由學員實踐練習，並指引學員通過每週作業習得實用技能。
👩🏻🏫 The 10-week course provides a comprehensive journey through the entire process of creating an authentic Cheongsam from scratch. Participants learnt tailoring measurements, pattern drafting, cutting, and sewing techniques, alongside fitting alterations. Each session includes detailed demonstrations followed by hands-on practice, and ensuring that students gain practical skills through weekly between class assignments.
🎯 課程結束時，學員將對製作整件港式長衫的工藝有一定的理解，並能夠為自己或未來客戶製作獨特的服裝。
By the end of the course, participants develop a general understanding of the craftsmanship involved in making a complete Cheongsam, empowering them to create their own unique garments for themselves or clients.

Dear Sir or Madam!
I have been a fan of cheongsam for about 50 years. Many years ago, I began drawing cheongsam models, but they never found any use. With one small exception, when I had a dress made for my wife for our silver wedding anniversary, which she wore to my delight. Unfortunately, it now sits unused in the closet because I rarely get the opportunity and it doesn’t correspond to European dress styles. I am now 73 years old, and I would love to see some of my ideas turned into reality. I came across them while searching online. If you are interested, you are welcome to use my ideas and turn them into reality. I don’t intend to make money from them, as I am retired and still have a solid income as a small internet provider.
